Carlo Dagro, the artist whose work previously depicted worn mechanical parts made organic by water-worn imperfections is back with an all new series. The new paintings are inspired by New Orleans herself. Influenced by the weather-torn buildings which Hurricane Katrina damaged, revealing layers of color and texture lost to time, this new series also reflects the erosion of the city by rampant crime. The addition of weapons and criminal elements further stimulate thoughts of the eroding effect of crime on a city still not completely recovered from the aftermath of Katrina. |
